Endangered Birds Got the Beach



Most of us normal, average people would like to have a beach of our own where we can lie down and savor the sun all day. What will make it better than somebody else buying it for you and allowing you to use the beach for free? Apparently, you have to be an endangered species first before you can get someone to buy you a whole stretch of beach to lay egg on.

Meet the Maleo birds, these endangered birds got their own stretch of Indonesian beach to their name, complete with bodyguards to protect their eggs from human scavengers and hungry poachers. Maleo birds are considered endangered since they are very rare. These endangered species are also a native of Indonesia; unfortunately, their eggs have become a popular delicacy around the Sulawesi, an island in Indonesia. This situation had brought down the number of live Maleo birds threatening to extinct them.

Disposable Plastic Bags Anyone?



Plastic bags are nature’s number one enemy. A regular disposable plastic bag can last up to 1000 years in the face of the Earth and poses a great environmental hazard. Actually, nobody really knows if they indeed dissolve or they just stay that way forever. These bags are made to last a lifetime, they are durable and they will not break into any other form; that unfortunately, puts Mother Earth into a compromising position.

This is exactly why environmentalists move to ban disposable plastic bags from supermarkets and shops in hopes of wiping out plastic bags usage once and for all. Although there have been recycling efforts employed by the government, it seems that it’s never enough as compared to the actual amounts of plastic bags people use everyday. In the end, it will still depend on the choices we make and how we live our lives.

“Green”Laptops



            Apple has done it again, by creating something spectacular, even though everything they create is notorious in every way. They are the new ‘Green Notebooks’. No they are not really green laptops. They are the hottest laptop known to be Eco-Friendly. They are highly recyclable and have even more energy then other laptops offered by Apple. These incredible notebooks are being sold everyday, for there sleek style and their friendly environmentally status.

           Apple has worked extremely hard to eliminate the numerous toxins that are primarily used to manufacture notebooks. They have also done this with other green products of there’s such as: MacBook computers, iPod touch, iPod Classic, iPhone 3G, and the iPod nano. In addition to the removal of toxins, this infamous laptop is completely recyclable and every material within this notebook can be reused in other products for recycled aluminum and glass. Both of which are very wanted by recyclers whom use it to their advantage on other products.

What is a Hybrid Car



The word “Hybrid” means a cross, or mixture of something. In this case, a Hybrid is a combination of safeness for the environment and overall a better choice car. These amazing hybrid Vehicles have been an enormous environmental impact and is the best bet to get the majority out of each tank of fuel while driving through the city. These vehicles also have reduced noise emissions in which road noises from tires and wind, things you usually hear when inside a car, are not affected by the hybrid design.

This remarkable car also reduces air pollution, unlike any average vehicle; due to lower fuel consumption. However, battery toxicity has become a concern; although car companies can recycle the batteries after their use.

European Union votes to ban toxic farm pesticides



The European Union has voted to ban toxic farm pesticides earlier this week.  This move tightens the use of pesticides in agriculture and prohibits the use of 22 chemicals.

The legislation aims to control crop spraying especially in areas near schools and hospitals.  The ban also aims to curb the use of toxic chemicals, some of them said to be carcinogenic.
