Eco Tourism Around the World



Two decades ago, the word eco tourism would not be on any dictionary in the planet.  Today the word is associated with green adventures with the focus on preserving and viewing some of the most beautiful and green environments in the planet.  Here are some noteworthy destinations to consider for ecotourism.

Brazil, the land of the Amazon River, Carnival and Iguacu Falls.  The Amazon is one of the most popular ecotourism destinations in the world because of its diverse plant and anima life.  The Amazon has over half of the world’s species of flowers, trees and herbs.  Not only is the Amazon mysterious, there is also a sense of adventure and danger whenever visitors visit this ecotourist destination.

Tasmanian Devils Threatened by Contagious Facial Cancer



The population of the Tasmanian Devil, one of the most famous tourism icons of Australia, is not only valued for shaping the natural landscape but also for acting as a natural buffer in establishing the fox population in Tasmania. That is why the news of a rare kind of facial cancer spreading across this species is an incessant cause of concern for ecologists, naturalists, tourists, and also the Australian government.

Reported first in 1996, the Devil Facial Tumor Disease (DFTD) spread quite rapidly among the Tasmanian Devils, mainly in the eastern parts of Tasmania. The overall prevalence of the condition was reported from 64 places in the state, in end 2008, over 60% of the state’s total area. In high-density populations of the species, there is more than 90% of mortality rate, with most of the affected animals dying in 6 to 18 months after contracting the disease. For the ecologists and conservationists, this situation is no less than an emergency.

“Green”Laptops



            Apple has done it again, by creating something spectacular, even though everything they create is notorious in every way. They are the new ‘Green Notebooks’. No they are not really green laptops. They are the hottest laptop known to be Eco-Friendly. They are highly recyclable and have even more energy then other laptops offered by Apple. These incredible notebooks are being sold everyday, for there sleek style and their friendly environmentally status.

           Apple has worked extremely hard to eliminate the numerous toxins that are primarily used to manufacture notebooks. They have also done this with other green products of there’s such as: MacBook computers, iPod touch, iPod Classic, iPhone 3G, and the iPod nano. In addition to the removal of toxins, this infamous laptop is completely recyclable and every material within this notebook can be reused in other products for recycled aluminum and glass. Both of which are very wanted by recyclers whom use it to their advantage on other products.

Ecotourism in Costa Rica



Ecotourism is simply a tour of a country’s ecological attractions.  It focuses on environmental issues rather than the actual tourist spot itself.  It also centers on preserving the natural beauty, cultural heritage and the flora and fauna that live there.

Costa Rica is a South American country with diverse ecological wonders.  It is the most visited South American country with more than 1.9 million tourists a year.  Ecotourism is extremely popular in Costa Rica.  It has many protected areas and national parks.  It has varied plants and animals and with 25% of its total land area protected and reserved, expect to see a lot of wildlife.

Eco Tourism in the Philippines



Started in 1991, the Philippine government came up with Ecotourism or Ecological tourism in an attempt to improve and develop lives of local people while promoting tourism as well.

With a 20-year plan, ecotourism projects focused on preservation of natural and cultural Philippine heritage, advancement of local communities around the area and satisfaction of travelers alike. Together with various departments and NGOs, they perceive this project to continually benefit government by providing income and a way to protect the environment.
