Our days spent in school will surely influence us as a person one way or another. Good or bad experiences, they are bound to affect our ability to respond to what’s happening around us. For many years, our minds were molded by our professors, teachers and even our peers in school. With that said, what better way to induce eco awareness in our children than having them learn about it in schools?
The good news is, more and more schools are now creating programs solely intended for eco consciousness. Environmental experts say that it’s only a matter of initiative. Encouraging students to take part in something that is important—and to see their respected teachers doing them—will surely help create eco awareness amongst the community. Here are some suggestions on how to lessen or reduce your school’s ecological footprint:
· Create a facility that encourages good environmental practices such as recycling and energy conservation. Remember that making the first step is always the most crucial of all but it has to start somewhere, no matter how big or small your step will be.
· Educate your herd. Eco consciousness in school requires community participation. In order for them to follow you, you must convince them that it’s good and beneficial if they do. By educating students and even teachers, you are certain that they will heed the call.
· Launch eco events. Events are one of the best ways to make a point. Aside from the fact that it actually encourages participation while having fun.
· Reach out to the community outside of school. By doing so, your school will be making it more worthwhile since it brings recognition and support from the local community.
