Imagine life without electricity? Without light? Or without heat? Would it be possible?
Contrary to popular belief, it is not money but rather energy that makes the world go round. Light, heat and electricity are all forms of energy that you can’t live without. In the same way all our body activities are powered by energy derived from the food we eat.
Energy is also an indispensable factor despite the increasingly modernized society that we are thriving in today. Most modern gadgets or technology is highly dependent on electricity and that without any source of energy they would be as good as our figurines at home.
If our body derives energy from the food we eat, what about the machines that we can’t live without everyday? Most of them come from non-renewable sources such as oil, coal, natural gas and radioactive elements. They are called as such because once they are removed from the ground and used they are not replaced immediately. As a matter of fact, natural gas, crude oil and coal deposits took millions of years to form and be replaced.
The good news is, we have such thing as renewable energy. They are available in almost an unlimited supply and could be replaced easily. Examples of renewable energy are sunlight, wind, biomass and moving water. Through special collectors, we are able to catch some of this energy and transform it into a usable form of energy.
Another good thing about renewable energy is that it is not subject to global economics, market deregulation and political events that could cause soaring energy prices. Also renewable energy is supportive of eco green projects and global green projects because of the means by which special collectors are converting them to be used by residential and business communities.
It is also supportive of the campaign to combat global warming and other environmental campaign. All in all, renewable energy is supportive of global green projects and green living thus we have to be very supportive of them so as our nature’s habitat would be preserved for the generations to come.
